Before I design, I understand the business.
Every visual decision answers a diagnosis. You know what works in your current brand, what can improve and what needs to be redone before you see the first proposal.
Immersion
Interviews with you and your team, a read of the market and your competitors. I come out of this stage knowing where the current brand helps the business and where it gets in the way.
- Brand diagnosisWhat helps the business today, what gets in the way and what is worth keeping.
- Competitive mapHow competitors present themselves and where there is room to stand apart.
- Conversation summaryThe common ground between your vision, your team’s and the market’s.
Direction
The diagnosis becomes positioning and criteria. Every choice of form, color and typography gets a reason you can explain to your team.
- PositioningWho the brand speaks to, what it promises and how it wants to be perceived.
- Design criteriaThe rules behind every choice of form, color and typography.
- Tone referencesThe visual territory you approve before any drawing.
Design
I design the visual system and test it on the brand’s real applications: website, social media, stationery, product. Whatever doesn’t work in use goes back to the table.
- Visual systemSymbol, logotype, colors, typography and graphic elements that work together.
- Real applicationsThe brand tested at the touchpoints that matter: website, social media, stationery and product.
- RefinementAdjustments based on your feedback, until the system works in everyday use.
Delivery
Organized files, a brand manual and a handover conversation with whoever will look after the brand, so it works without depending on me.
- Final filesOrganized and ready for print and digital, in the formats defined in the scope.
- Brand manualThe usage rules, so anyone can apply the brand consistently.
- Handover conversationA meeting with whoever will look after the brand, so it works without depending on me.
From people who have been through the process.
We arrived at an identity that translates purpose, innovation and belonging. It turned out modern, alive and full of personality. Thank you for capturing so well the essence of who we are and where we want to go.
The result exceeded my expectations. It added a lot to my company and to the way people see my work and my business, bringing me more clients and more followers on social media, and raising my authority and perceived value […]. It was an excellent investment in my company.
Cleiton Avi is an excellent designer who turns words into designs that convey ideas and concepts. His creativity, focus and commitment to the client are clear from the start of the project. He did the work exactly as I wanted and impressed me even more at the final presentation.
Always helpful and attentive throughout the whole project, he presented a surprising, complete result aligned with the brand’s ideals, which brought new life to the business with a vibrant personality and presence.
A great professional. I had the honor of working with Cleiton, and I can say he works meticulously on every piece he produces. The most recent project he did for me, a visual identity, turned out excellent.
Frequently asked questions
The questions that come up before almost every project. If yours isn’t here, just ask.
Talk to meWhat is visual identity?
It is your company’s entire visual ecosystem, well beyond the symbol. It includes the color palette, typography, icons, photography and composition rules. It is the language that makes your brand recognizable even if we cover the logo.
What is the difference between a visual identity and a logo?
The logo is the tip of the iceberg. The visual identity is the whole iceberg. The logo is the signature; the visual identity is the brand’s complete voice. A logo alone can’t carry the communication of a business that wants to be taken seriously.
How much does a visual identity cost?
There is no fixed price list, because each brand solves a different problem. The investment reflects the depth of the work and the experience I bring from projects like Rocketseat’s. I assess your business’s moment case by case and propose a scope that solves the real problem. Payment is split into stages that follow the deliveries. I wrote an article breaking down what makes the price vary, it’s worth a read.
How long does a project take?
A complete project usually takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the scope. I work in stages, with deliveries and check-ins along the way. You watch the brand take shape instead of waiting in the dark until the end.
What do I get at the end?
You receive a complete presentation of every stage, the manual with the usage guidelines, plus the editable and final files defined in the scope, ready to use. It is a complete kit for your marketing and development team to run the brand on their own, without depending on me for every piece.
I already have a brand. Is it worth redoing?
It is when your current brand no longer reflects the size of the business, gets in the way of sales or conveys an image you no longer want. Rebranding is part of what I do. I assess what can be kept and what needs to change, so you don’t throw away the recognition you have already built.
Do you work with companies outside Santa Catarina or Brazil?
I do. I am based in Rio do Sul, Santa Catarina, and I work remotely with founders all over Brazil and abroad. The whole process is online, with live meetings and presentations, so distance has never been a problem.
Do I need to have the idea ready?
No, that is my job. You need clarity about your business and your goals. Translating that into visuals is my responsibility, based on strategy, research and technical grounding.
